I See
I have been trying in vain for the last year to "settle" my little boys down. I have been shushing and telling them to "quiet down, now" and "play quietly." Their volume is always on high and they do everything but walk. I ask them to please just stop running, yelling, whining, screaming, biting, jumping, pushing, spitting, burping, tooting and hitting. I really thought I might lose my mind while counting the days left until Kindergarten. I have sought some wisdom from other moms of boys and there is one phrase that keeps ringing in my head. One wise mother told me, "Boys are nuts."

suggestion, insert "flippin" between are and nuts.
when you stare in open-mouthed shock as your three-year-old hits another child with a stick for no reason but that he was standing in that spot, you realize that yes, indeed, boys are a challenge.
Boys are flippin nuts.
Did Tims hit Nafe with a stick? Does he need a timeout? Was that just a hypothetical or do you need an apology from someone?
Ok, I'll agree with this post because all 3 of my boys are just like you described above.
My boys are all flippin nuts! LOL, but I wouldn't trade them for the world!
Me either, Krystal. They are a completely different subspecies than girls and I say that with much love.
You mean it's not just my boys?
We could be looking at an epidemic, Karla.
Eli was the hitter and anyone standing in the vicinity of said hitter was the hittee.
No apologies needed.
"boys are nuts"
Truer words never spoken.
Kristi,
Eli is a teenager now, right? When did he outgrow it? (sense the optimism there? Plus, you spoke of it in the past tense.)
Not that I have a testosterone ball in need of anger impulse control living in my house. No, not me.
I say the same things to both Casey AND Gianna!! LOL Kids in general are nuts. The good news is, they outgrow it. The bad news is, they outgrow it. I keep getting told over and over again to enjoy it while it lasts and they are only little once. That's the "grandparents" talking (and people who forget what those days are like and only have to deal with them here and there). ;)
