80's Girl

I heard one of my favorite 80's tunes yesterday. It's called In a Big Country. Sung by the band Big Country. The song In a Big Country comes straight off of the album called Big Country. Youtube is not cooperating with me. No linky love.

My favorite line
But I can live and breathe and see the sun in wintertime!

I liked that song, too (past tense on that for me.)

But. About the eighties tunes. One of the local stations is playing a lot of 80's rock this week. I don't remember what song it was regarding (and it may have been a remake,) but the DJ said something about it bringing you right back, "minus that side ponytail." I cracked up!

I loved the movie The Wedding Singer in part because it so encapsulates a lot of the 80's, esp fashion (including above-noted side ponytail.)

I never wore one.
Happy Thursday to you.

(I have a joke but you might not get it 'cuz I'm not even sure how to spell it...)

Was that called "the half-Leia' (you know, Start Wars...)

Sure, I laugh. Did you ever wear a Gunny Sacks/Sax dress? (can't spell that either.) Lavender. To the floor. High neck trimmed in white lace. (It's how I fooled everyone! jk) Oh yea...

YES! The Half-Leia was worn with a lavender dress. To the floor, to the neck, to the wrists. I miss those days.

Get Out! For real?!! (I forgot about the wrists.)

What was your song? I hated that the class picked Time In a Bottle for sr. prom. What a melancholy tune.
