Check

I swam with The Bigs last night. My annual summer swim. I am one of those people that takes a half-hour to "get used" to the water. My children know this. They do not help. They become psycho splashers and leap, dive, kick and make waves all around me. Nice. Oh, and fun. Very fun for Mom. I did begin to enjoy floating around on a tube but then there was Josh, with his hands, feet and face in my face and Sarah with her, "Watch Me!!" swim tricks. It's a very good thing that I can now check Swimming off my list of things to do this summer.

Hahahaha. I'm sorry, but I have to confess that I would totally have been splashing you too. That is, if I dared to don a bathing suit. Which I wouldn't. So... yeah.

:-) Hi, by the way! I haven't been here (or anywhere) in ages. I've missed you!

Carla, the older I get the longer it takes me to get used to the water. I'm right there with ya. Glad you got that activity checked off the list.

Sheesh...it takes me that long just to get into my suit.

I actually like swimming with the kids... when it's 90+ and humid. But I have really bad hair when it gets wet (esp from pool water, as opposed to ocean, which on a good day will give it a little wave when it dries.)
So I don't put my head under. This was driving my kids NUTS! So mom! Are ya gonna put your head under?! Why not?! Will you today?!!!!

So on vacation, it was that hot. I decided to thrill them. When my hair was pasted, I mean, when my hair had dried, I queried: See what I mean?
You know what they said? Mom, you don't look like a drowned rat... Your hair looks just like it always does!

So I made them walk back to CT from FL. They should get here any day now.
