Ouchies

We all sat down to freak out I mean, eat dinner and I noticed that all of my shiny happy faced children have bruises. On their faces. I shall start with the littles and work my way up.
Timmers sat at his alphabet desk yesterday. He doesn't know the alphabet but it's never too early I say. He tried to get out of the desk and stumbled and fell and took the desk with him. The corner hit him right under the eye. A black eye for him.
Nathan bonked heads with Sarah the other night and has a black and blue mark on his forehead.
Sarah fell out of bed the night before school started and hit her face on the corner of her nightstand. She has a black eye.
Joshua played with someone at recess. It's a someone I tell him not to play with anymore. They threw a stick at him and he caught it with his cheek, which is now bruised.

I would compare boo-boos too but I don't have any at the moment. Not to worry, I usually sport several on my shins.

How funny!
At least you know how each bruise happened. I usually develop "mystery bruises" that I have no idea where they came from.

You know what they say....The family that bruises together, stays together.

Katie, I believe that's "The family that bruises together, FUSES together."

We used to worry that the pediatrician would see the bumps and bruises on Anna and suspect us; we told him of our concern. He said that abuse shows up in particular places; not the sort that Anna displays.

We we relieved until he went on to say that he was sure that .."it would be Anna sending other kids to the E.R."
What's a father to say when confronted with a slur like that? He noticed our umbrage and clarified that he didn't mean to suggest that Anna would hurt other kids, but that when they tried to imitate the things she did, they'd get hurt in the attempt.

I kind of swelled with fatherly pride at that.

Ok Kelli, you HAVE to get a blog after that wicked one-liner!
WOOT!

Don't worry Carla, It's the two- and three-year-olds that don't have bruises people wonder about.

I know I'm relatively new to the blogging scene, but it seems to me that poor Katie gets picked on a bit around here. :)
