The Heart of the Matter

Picture this. 4 children all buckled in the van,a big water bottle full of icy water packed for thirsty cherubs, excited chatter about going to the park, a cool breeze, blue sky, and a mom frantically searching for something. Keys, dude! Check, double check, call husband, retrace my steps to realize I haven't left the house since Sunday.(?!)The natives grew restless in the van and I told them the news. Sorry. Now I believe a better mom would have put on her happy face, dug out the double stroller and headed for the nearest park. I put in VeggieTales and attacked the piles on the counter. I must admit I was mad. I felt defeated. Thankfully the neighbor girls came over and redeemed our morning. Oh, and I threw out tons of stuff and cleared some of the piles. Still haven't found my keys, but I learned something about myself today. When my first reaction to the "stuff of life" is anger, Carla has a lot of growing up to do.

First time visitor here - I see on on several blogs I read :) so I figured I would drop by... I think I should tape my keys to my head sometimes - one time I found them at the bottom of the trash - whoops - another time in the junk drawer (of course!) because I must have thought I didn't need them for awhile...

Oh no!!!! I would have done exactly what you did, even down to the VeggieTales detail. (Oh, how I love VeggieTales!) Getting four kids ready to go somewhere, buckled in and all! It's such a HUGE FEAT! oh, I completely sympathize. I hope you can find your keys soon!

If my keys aren't on the key hook, I'm a nut looking them!
I would have done the same thing you did!! LOL!

Check the freezer.
And then ask all children under 5.
