I put my foot in my mouth this week. Silly me. Joshua was invited to a birthday party and I called to RSVP. I asked this mother,"Is there anything your daughter needs?" There was a pregnant pause. Like 9 months pregnant. Mother spoke,"My. Daughter. Doesn't. NEEEEEED. Anything." Wow. Ok then. I babbled something and got off the phone. DOH! Note to self-say wants, say wants, say wants, say wants, say wants!!

I'd have said my son NEEDS some new socks, school supplies and thank you very much for asking I appreciate your thoughtfulness. Sorry Carla! I think you showed great concern for that mom's daughter. :)
OHMYGOSH! Unbelievable. I always think that's so kind when the mom asks for gift ideas (no matter what the verbiage!).
Here are some ideas for next year: thankfulness, gratitude and some humbleness. Those might be some "needs".
Just my two cents.
(Meow...Is there a cat in here?)
Sounds like mommy is a little sensitive.
Me-yow.
YIKES! Can you imagine being so offended by someone's attempt at kindness???? Yowzers!
Of course, you know that now you have to wrap up some gift certificates to the local food pantry for her.
What a weirdo that woman is!
Sounds like mom

With a host like that, the party will be a blast! ha!
Jeeez! Someone had a chip on her shoulder.
Geez, over-react much? You were just being considerate by asking a simple question. Wonder what her problem was.
Maybe Joshie can use that new "B" word on her.
Gee, I always ask parents this question.. It think it's a thoughtful thing to ask. Some people are just strange I guess.
Wow, sounds like that mom has some issues.
