Quick Read

I do love reading to my cherubs. I remember when Joshua and Sarah were finally onto me. They realized I didn't always read everything word for word. "Mom, that's not right! Read that part! That's not what it says!" Nathan is not quite there. He doesn't know all of the words and I can skip around a bit if I am tired and he needs to go to sleep! He does ask a billion questions though. "Who dis? Who dat? What he do? Where he go? Why he go dere? Why he do, say, eat, drink dat?" If I make sure to say, The Berenstain Bears who lived in a big tree house down a sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country...we're good.

Hahaha. I try to do the same thing. It seems like when I'm most exhausted, they pull out their longest book and demand that EVERY word be read, plus all their questions must be answered! I still try to get away with it, though...

I remember my mom doing that to us, too. She used to say she was trying to see if we were paying attention.

I think it's so cute that you call them "cherubs"!

Reading is wonderful. I try to read to Dawson every night before bed, but it really depends on his attention span. He sometimes refuses to even sit down!

Yes, I do this too. WHen I am pooped, I make up the story as we look at the pictures. It seems like those are the nights when Evan has a ton of questions.

I don't always THINK "cherubs" but I do like to type it.
