Responsible

My 10 year old son Joshua wants a hamster. He is willing to step up by reading about the rodent, saving his money, doing a Lot better in the personal hygiene department, and helping with the youngers. He is also in charge of GriffenFatCat. I was talking to a friend who suggested Joshua take care of a plant as well. I thought that was a great idea until I realized that I never would have been allowed to have a cat, much less children.

I hate hamsters. They just...smell. They aren't as bad as ferrets, but I still dislike them intensely. (This friend told me that she loved to shower with her ferrets because they were so "funny and wiggly" and she was completely oblivious to the look of horror on my face.)

We have two beta fish, a hermit crab and a foul mouthed bird inherited from a neighbor who died.

I am already in over my head.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I like yours. You seem to have a knack I lack: nice, short, interesting posts. I covet that talent.

Hey Maria! I like your blog too!
I am not sure where this hamster thing will lead...could be frightening. I will draw the line at showering with it though! eck

I'm not a fan of hamsters, either. They make that awful wheeeee wheeee wheee sound. Ugh.

Ok. Nowhere in the hamster books does it mention smells or wheee wheee wheee sounds! I should have just asked you all first what you thought of hamsters!! HA

Eli has one and she is the sweetest thing. Brandy found her at a pet store when she was a baby--the hamster, not Brandy. We held her a lot when she was little, so she never bites. They do make a noise, but it is just a small grunty whee. Come over and hold Sniffers sometime.

I do believe Sniffers is the one responsible for the new obsession.
