I thought I had a style. Seriously.
On Sunday before worship I was getting ready and asked my husband, "Patrick, do these look like clown shoes?" He answered laughing, "Yeah, they kinda do!"(I am glad I didn't ask him if I looked fat.)I bought the wretched shoes when I was pregnant with SarahBeara and my feet were swelling. Nobody told me that I have been walking around like Bozo for 6 years!?!
Here's a snapshot of me. My hair is usually up in a cute momtail which means I need a cute momcut. I grab whatever smells clean off the floor. My mom uniform is jeans and a t-shirt and a hoodie. Unless I am going somewhere and then I dress up in one of the many $6.92 shirts I have purchased from WalMart. I wear the 2 rings that my beloved gave to me, fake pearl earrings and a bracelet that is held together with duct tape.(Sarah wanted to "see" and ripped it off my wrist when I had only worn it for 9 seconds, but I'm not bitter.) When I tire of my clothing, I pray that my sis-in-law is ready to pass something on or I head to the Thrift Store.(Monday is 25% off!)My look screams MOMMY NEEDS A MAKEOVER! (I am not even going to discuss the Week of the Slug that comes around every month.)
I guess I do have a style. It's a No Style Style.

I didn't laugh at you. I laughed at why you would asked me if you looked like a clown. From my perspective it was a setup question...like you said, in the realm of "Am I fat?"
You're right. I expected a no.
We share the same wardrobe. I used to wear suits but now that I freelance, they live in the back of my closet where I sometimes go to just sniff them and remember when I actually HAD a career.
Plus, I am skeered to try them on. I instinctively know that they will never fit. Pretty soon, I will have to buy jeans with an elastic waistband.
I have "teacher clothes" lurking somewhere as well. Sigh.
Dear Carla,
I like your style...a lot. I have the very same style and I think it works for both of us. You look like a super mom who's comfy and loves her kiddos.
Thank you, sweet pea!
Carla - I would say you were my secret twin, but I know that many other moms dress like us. Sad but true!
I have lots of teacher clothes too. Oh I will probably never wear them again but I hate to give them away. I am NOT a packrat. lol
Lene,
I keep a lot of "emotional" clothes as well. We are not packrats!
Your picture didn't come through on my computer. But, I love your "mom uniform" and "momtail." I think we're twins!
Shauna,
I didn't put up an actual photo of me. You will have to use your imagination or look in the mirror if we're twins. :)
