Play Nice

Gotta love it when a playdate works out! We were thrilled today to have some friends over to play. I was sorely disappointed in Nafer's behavior however. He was so naughtay I could believe it! I disciplined him while still trying to continue the adult conversation I was craving. I was a little embarrassed but shouldn't have been. Such is life with chillers. My momfriend said later that we'll have to play at her house so I could see her children be just as naughty. That made me feel strangely better. A nice way to even the score, so to speak.

I am right there with you except my son doesn't discriminate - he has behavior issues here, there, anywhere. ;)

I hate when you are trying to have a conversation but you can't because they are just into trouble. I have been there done that so many times, I can't even count.

Yes, you are welcome to visit my house and see how naughty my children can be.
My first 2 typically are the type of children who are naughty in the privacy of their own home. Child number 3 is happy to be naughty everywhere. I think that is so other Moms can feel good about their children.

Maybe that's why I like the show Supernanny!

A good friend will always understand. And what's up with 'company behavior'? Yes, Nicholas acts out more at home than at other people's houses.

Sad but true. I have heard that is how it is supposed to be. Cherubs tend to "let their hair down" in their own homes and keep it together when they are "out there."

Don't we all have better behavior with others than we do with our own families? Adults and children alike! Who here would spank their neighbor for an infraction and yet I bet a lot of the adults here spank their kids.

Thou shalt not spank your neighbor.

I've pretty much given up on adult conversations during playdates. They don't happen when there are 8 little legs, 40 little fingers, 4 little continuously hungry tummies and 4 little mouths asking for a snack....and that's just the count from MY kiddos, not to mention my friend's chitlins!

Playdates can still be worthwhile, though... it's good just to see another female 30-something stay-at-home mommy and remember that I'm not the only one who's in this crazy boat!
