Hold Up
Same ol WalMart store. It had been raining cats and dogs all weekend and Sarah wore her favorite pink raincoat. She had touched everything there was to touch in the aisles and at the checkout. The world is her playground. I waited almost patiently while she hopped in and out of rides and perused the ripoff games. Time to go, missy. I was already out the door, pushing my cart in the rain, confident that my girlybug was behind me. I heard,"Mommy, wait!" I turned around and saw Sarah in the doorway with 2 customers and their carts behind her. There was a train of 30 or so carts in front of her with the WalMart engineer waiting. Without a care in the world, she casually zipped her raincoat, tucked her hair into her hood, and scooped up her bag of Skittles from the floor. I offered a lame, "Excuse us" (excuse HER) and swam to the car.
