I believe I have mentioned before that when I had a brain I was a middle school LD teacher. It was a crazy job, I tell ya!! Teenage girls crying on my shoulder for much of the day. "No, you don't look fat. Yes, you can use my mirror. No, you are not going home. Yes, she was mean to say that." Some days were a freakshow.
I say all of this because I had a former student over for lunch last week. She had to keep reminding me that she wasn't 13. I guess I should have realized that when she drove up with her daughter! She is 23 with a career, a home and a family of her own. I am just so darn proud of her. I am just so darn old.
