You're Toast
I remember when Joshua was 1 or 2 and Patrick and I had already decided that there would be NO GUNS(or swords, knives, grenades) for our little angel. We figured he would be better off without all of those violent toys. At breakfast one morning, Joshua pointed his little finger at his momma and said, "Bang!" I asked him to please stop. That worked until he began chewing his toast or graham cracker into a gun and shooting me with that. Family huddle. Patrick and I changed our minds and decided together that a gun for Josh and a gun for dad would be ok. They would both be armed and dangerous. As Joshua has grown, it has changed to a sword for Josh and a sword for dad. There is no getting around it, people. Boys are wired to be warriors. They just are. I have read Bringing Up Boys by James Dobson and that is what he says. Now that Nathan is shooting Mommy with his finger and grabbing sticks to shoot his sister, it's time once again to make sure all who so desire to storm the hill are armed. (Nathan makes the best "eh, eh, eh, eh, eh" gun noises!) Here's a thought...what if this next baby is a boy too? I guess if God wants me to raise warriors for Him I will be well equipped for it!! With a bazooka, I hope.
