Encouragement

It is sometimes very difficult to see any progress you are making in the growth of your children. I often feel like we are spinning our wheels on the same topics. "Joshua, put your clothes away, pick up your toys, brush your teeth. Sarah, make your bed, get dressed, eat nice. Nathan, learn to speak." I have realized that to see how far you have come you have to see where you've been. Joshua used to get out of bed 7-8 times a night and throw his food on the floor. Not anymore. Sarah used to come out of roomtime 4-5 times a day. Not anymore. Nathan used to play with the cat food. Not anymore. In fact, all 3 of my cherubs used to be infants and the eldest are out of diapers!! I try hard not to quote my mother, "How many times do I have to tell you that?! When are you going to get it?!" I will give my children the grace to grow in their own way, in their own time. Isn't that the same grace I want God to shower me with?
