I have a refrigerator and stove that are both gold. Harvest Gold as a matter of fact. I have a feeling that means they were both born at Monkey Wards in what? The lates 70's? Early 80's? These dinosaurs of the appliance world continue to keep our hot foods hot and our cold foods cold. Only 2 burners work on the stove. They are on the right hand side. Our oven didn't work for the longest time and Pat's mom(affectionately known at Noni)would bake all of my kids' birthday cakes!! We purchased a new coil and...good as old. All of the knobs are corroded and on the FRONT and it even has that little clock with the annoying buzzer. I just would not do this stove justice if I did not mention the attractive drip pans wrapped in tinfoil. The fridge had some kind of cover on the very bottom that Griffen the cat used to pry off with his paws.(I can still hear the screechy ERRR ERRR ERRR as he worked so very hard at it.)The reason he needed it off was to stick his head in there and drink any water that dripped out. That cover is long gone. I can scrub these 2 until the cows come home and they never become new. I figure I have a couple of choices here...
A) Paint the kitchen Harvest Gold so everything matches.
2) Paint the appliances white so when the paint chips you can still see the Harvest Gold.
C) Enter them in an Old and Ugly Appliance Contest and win new ones!
4) Break them myself and tell Pat that we need 2 new appliances as they both kicked the bucket conveniently on the same day!
E) Try not to break them both on the same day.
F) Try to stop fantasizing about new appliances.
7) Wait patiently for Harvest Gold appliances to become all the rage once again.
H) Praise God that I have appliances that work. A fridge that is full. A stove that cooks and bakes and self cleans. Thank Him for meeting our every need.
I choose...mmmm...H!!!!

I think our appliances are related some how. Although, my stove isn't self-cleaning. Ya know, come to think of it, my fridge isn't self-cleaning either. I think I'll hold out for one of those.
