There was no school on Friday. Too many teachers called in sick but weren't and there were not enough substitutes and I really don't want to get into that right now.(Go Scott Walker!)Sarah needed me to sign her school assignment book. I did and then read the motivational message for the week that was located at the top of the page.
INTEGRITY
A person of integrity keeps
commitments and lives up
to his or her responsibilities.

Wow. Next week's message: irony.
If they follow up irony with simile, metaphor and onomatopoeia, they'll have English covered.
Oh I LOVE it! Print that bad boy and send it to the teacher.
Brenda - LOL!
One gets the impression the students are really there to teach the teachers...
BTW - what's with signing school work? I made it clear to my children's teachers I would only be signing documents that they themselves signed originally. This idea that parents need to sign-off on school work only serves to undermine the authority of the parent in the eyes of the child. It also indicates the child cannot be trusted.
There are some schools, Chris, where parents have no clue what their children are doing in the classroom from week to week and they don't take any responsibility at all. Maybe this is a teacher's way of engaging the parents in the learning process. I don't know...
Carla,
I'd be so tempted to highlight that in yellow marker, but I wouldn't want Sarah's grades to suffer.
Just wanna add... I'm sure Carla is NOT one of those disinterested parents I'm referring to!!
After Sarah finishes her homework I initial her assignment book to show that I am not disinterested. :)
I am tempted to highlight it as well.
I circled it in black Sharpie and sent my girl off to school.
Carla, You get an "A"!
