Before I had children I knew everything there was to know about children. I was the best parent-to-be around. I watched everyone else's children and knew my children would never do that.(They do!)I heard other parents and knew I would never say that.(I do!)I could give unsolicited advice about children like nobody's business! I had Joshua and still knew quite a bit. Sarah came along and I knew less than what I knew with Josh. Hi Nathan! Hi Timothy! Every subsequent cherub has helped me to see I don't know a whole lot anymore. The parenting books are long gone, I have stopped giving unsolicited advice, nothing the Streamers do or say surprises me and I am hanging on for the ride hoping my brain cells will regenerate in time for grandmotherhood.

"A for Effort" -
I think I'll post that on my fridge as a friendly reminder to all critics. :)
This picture would make a great Christmas card addition. Beautiful!
A+ for you Janet!!
I don't know you (except for the blog), and I don't know your children (except for what you share about them in the blog), BUT I do know that there is a ton of love in your family. It is the love that counts the most and it comes through in words and photos. We all have our stories of "parent of the year" moments, but you add a chuckle or a thought to my days, and I thank you for that. You, and your awesome family!

Thank you so much Brenda!! You made my day! :)
How did we meet?
Carla,
I'm not sure how we met. I think that I clicked on a link that was referring to your abortion story. Your story gave me the chills. You (and Pat) are an inspiration. It is your day-to-day life that gives me the grins.
My children are older: Megan, 28 and Michael, 26. Megan has a mental handicap and lives with us (and keeps us young!). Michael is grown up and on his own, but I still remember well the ups and downs, challenges and triumphs great and small of little kidhood and teenagerhood.
Take care, keep writing, and
God bless!
