Tough

Dear Mr. Squirrel,
I saw you this morning as I barreled down the street in my van going 25 mph. You stopped in the middle of the road and stood your ground with your breakfast in your mouth. I believe your middle finger would have been raised, if you had one. Although I admired your tenacity I did not take my foot off of the gas pedal. At the very last second you scampered to the curb. You reminded me of myself. I will stand my ground for what I believe in too. Although, I will not run for the curb. I will not become road kill either.

See you tomorrow,
The Mom

That same squirrel played chicken with me on my blades this morning. There is always one up for the challenge. I think they wait for me.

Did you know, Carla, that squirrels who backtrack are far more likely to get killed than squirrels who continue to the other side of the street?

Apparently flip-flopping is bad in the animal kingdom, too.

Sounds like both of you would do well driving in Lebanon. ;)
