The Good Book

Nathan and I have been working diligently to get some New Testament knowledge into the boy's six year old head. It has been a week of my patience being sorely tested.

Mom "Nathan, what are the two parts of the Bible called?"
Nathan "The Bad Testament and the Good Testament."

Mom "Nathan, how many books are there in the New Testament?"
Nathan "9?"
Mom "No, try again."
Nathan "16?"
Mom "No, Nathan."
Nathan "30?"
Mom "Nathan there are 27 books in the New Testament."
Nathan "27!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The rest of our studying involves Nathan trying to sing the books of the New Testament out loud to Mom. My favorite book so far would have to be Fessawhippians.

Good one.

I think it would be so much easier for littles to learn the books of the NT if they'd have been named "People of City A", "People of City B" One and Two"...

zcoffee,
I will try to remember you tonight between 8 and 9:00.
Although, I will probably be fighting my own battle of bedtime then.

When my husband was working a lot of nights leaving me feeling a single parent much of the time, I always fell short at 14 hours. I would tell the kids - I can do 12 hours, but I just can't seem to do 14.

So I'll think of you and say a prayer.

(btw word ver: excita)
