It is rare when my husband Patrick and I get away for a weekend alone. We made a marriage retreat a priority and have attended for 11 years now. We have a lot of laughs, catch up with old friends and learn what God has to say about marriage. I always miss the cherubs though. Timmers evidently did fine without us. "Why you here?" he asked when we picked him up.

Know what I love? That they are just fine with you leaving and happy to see you come home. Nice to know they are comfortable here.
Haha! Shirley was the same way. She cried when I handed her to my mom, but stopped immediately, then cried when grandma left. Figures.

At least you know you don't have to worry about him crying as he goes off to college. How embarrassing would that be?
