I have been wondering when all of that good Middle School information might come my way this summer. So glad that I ventured down to my eldest son's room yesterday. I dare not go too often. I happened upon the Middle School Newsletter which listed class supply lists, dates of registration and a fee schedule for this Momma. Joshua told me, "Oh yeah, that. We got that on the last day of school."

Kind of incredible that "the experts" (schools/teachers) trust that kind of information transfer to kids they ahve just spent nine months with! You would think their experience alone would tell them "this is not a good idea."
You know what? Not one out of four has even handed me a 2009-2010 school year calendar. I asked my middle son yesterday, too. Just a bunch of old school work in that backpack.
Did they send it home in June and I tossed it? Hmmm.
On the supply list, I just figured I'd look at the list they post in the local stores. I thought that was kind of a funny yet helpful thing. Walk into any Staples or local drugstore and there is a kiosk in the entryway with the supply lists from all schools within a 20 mile radius. Very handy.
Good luck.
ps So you thought you would escape the neighbors by taking a nice relaxing trip with four for school supplies? :D
Carole,
I am surprised half of the permission slips made it home and back to school.
Walmart does not have the kiosk up yet. When I asked a helpful associate I got The Shrug and a "Hunh?"
I can't escape the neighbors. They are everywhere. I had 11 kids playing here one day. 7 were not related to me.
I really don't even want to think about back to school yet. My oldest son starts 1st grade August...well sometime in the middle of August...
Krystal... my youngest is starting 1st grade.
Yay!!!
(whatever will I do with al the FREE TIME?!!!!)
Okay...just reading the you had ELEVEN kids playing there one day makes me exhausted.
