Jog

In training for the big race on Sept. 5th, I thought I would try running outside. I barely made it down our block. Joshua was with me on his bike and said many things to motivate his momma like, "You're slow. You're walking AGAIN?! I'll race ya! Hurry up! I am not even pedaling and I am going faster than you are! I thought you were supposed to run more than you walk?!" I told him what the word motivation meant. He said, "Go, mom."

Haha, that's great. I overheard a conversation in the dressing room that should make you feel a little better.

Mom: I like this dress, it makes me look thin.

Daughter: Uh uh you're fat.

Mom: What?!

Daughter: Yep, you're thick.

Mom:laughs and (I imagine) shakes her head.

I was trying so hard not to laugh. It also reminded me to be really careful what I say in front of my kids. They seem to remember things like that at exactly the moment you least expect!

My middle son's favorite is (in a sing-songy voice) "Slow-poke Mom-my!" as he runs past me.
