In the spring The Littles notice that there is hardly enough sand left in the sandbox from the previous summer. I constantly and foolishly harp about keeping the sand in the sandbox and every spring there is an inch or so left. We have a ritual that keeps us all happy.
Buy 4-5 bags of sand.
Buy 2-3 bags of colored aquarium rocks.
Buy shiny new sandy toys.
The Littles LOVE it and sift, sift, sift until the day is done to get to the pretty rocks.

You're such a good mom, Carla.
Thank you Erin. I am quite crabby lately but thank you Erin.
I LOVE that idea! Is it okay if I steal it?! You will have to come over someday and we can all look for rocks together.
Mikayla had the fun idea last week of throwing some of her shell collection into the sandbox for Shelby. Shelby was mad because there was no shells at this beach:)
Go for it! You can also spray paint rocks gold and have them DIG all day!! :)
What great ideas!
Maybe you can help me with a problem. I'm trying to figure out how to easily separate large sticks from a big pile of leaves to make bagging leaves go more quickly. (We aren't allowed to burn leaves in my town.)
I'm thinking, maybe I could find some "littles", throw them on the leaf pile and tell them they can't leave until they have four sticks each. Could you lend me your "littles"? Please? :)
I'm crabby, too.
Janet,
If you want The Littles to poke, stab and whap each other with sticks then mine are perfect for the job!!
Erin,
How are you today?
Yesterday I was going to comment on how happy I was to not be crabby. Alas, today is a new day, and I can't boast that. Doing better now. Solo parent for the day... 2 karates... then left 3 bigs home and brought Noah to his soccer game by myself! Did wonders to alleviate tension. Now 2 friends are here. Enjoying the quiet.
That's so cute, and a great idea! :)
