I am finding it difficult yet hilarious to be an "older mom." When I am 50, for example my children will be 18, 15, 12 and 10. I am feeling it. Yesterday Nathan said, "Mom, you will be a grandma soon!!"
Me "Excuse me?"
Nathan "You will be a grandma soon because you are getting that brown stuff on the sides of your face."
I knew what he meant. I do not shave my brown sideburns. Thank you Nathan.

Thank goodness for Nate buddy! He took your attention off what I said to you in the morning.
Ya'know...that back-fired "teaching point" about us being content with each other. But you'd never humiliate me by telling that one on here (would ya?) My Love?
Yeah, my love. :)
I just did some quick math and... I KNOW HOW OLD CARLA IS! I KNOW HOW OLD CARLA IS!! ;) If it makes you feel any better... I was 18 when my mom turned 50. that was almost 7 years ago. ;)
I KNOW HOW YOUNG JANA IS!! I KNOW HOW YOUNG JANA IS!! :)
I wanna know what Pat said.
Kristi - no you don't. You'd really hate me for it. I was blind to the fact that my attempt at a teaching illustration had real life personal implications. I was thinking too much about making a big picture point.
