AI
I am so thankful that if I ever had a mind to audition for American Idol, my friends and family would beg me not to make a total fool out of myself on national television. I would listen to them and keep my lack of singing skills to myself.
You watched that too huh? It is a good laugh when people think they are actually good. Like the one dude who said he mom doesn't support him and he wanted to prove her wrong by getting a ticket to Hollywood. HAHA
I enjoy watching, but I feel guilty at the same time, like when I drive past a car wreck and stretch my neck to see what's going on, even though I know I shouldn't.
This reminds me of something they say about children -- they want attention, and they don't really differentiate between good and bad attention. They'll take whatever kind they can get. I think alot of the people on AI are doing that exact same thing.

Mental illness is rampant.
I agree. Many of those that audition have those issues.
I watch the show for the ones who sing and give me chills. I am in awe of some of the talent!!
