Get Up
I did not want to get up this morning and go work out. It was so cozy in bed and so cold and dark out there. My brain tried to talk me out of it. My body was fine with getting up. The real truth of the matter is my brain is lazy. My body will do what I ask it to, including working out. So in the battle of my mind I did the next thing. Turned on the lamp and got dressed. The V for Victory did not come from an amazing workout where I slashed my BF% or burned some calories. The real victory was in doing what I Did.Not.Feel.Like.Doing.

You don't go to the gym every day, do you?
Good for you if you do!
For me, there's no motivator like 2 hours of solid naughty puppy if I don't get my butt out there with her on a leash.
Good for you. It's definitely a mind-game for me. It's hard to get my brain to go with my body for some exercise.
Ral,
Thanks for stopping in. :) There is always energy to blog though right??
BTW your post on Obama was spot on. :)
Good job, Carla! I go through those mind games too.
It seems like it's been a long time since I've seen you...
Karla,
The goal is everyday. Do I make it? Sometimes. :)
Kris,
It has been a long time.
That is TRULY victorious! Way to go!
(I, on the other hand, pushed the snooze button FIVE times before I got up today. That does not earn me a V...)
How inspiring! I've never heard it said like that before, but, you're right, the body IS willing -- it's the mind tht objects. Well said.
Hey brillig,
I don't care how many times you hit the snooze. If you eventually get out of the bed, that's a victory (some days)
I am SO with you on this!! Friday could not come soon enough this week!
That was how I felt about class today. But I got up too. We rock.
We so rock, Elizabeth. :)
