There is a thought that I have been thinking for so long that I started to examine it yesterday and realize it is untrue. I am going to type it out and leave it here, never to be thought again by me or you. It goes something like this...

After this weekend, life will settle down.

We can personalize it. We can replace the word weekend with anything, really. Here is a partial list so we can all work on this together.
wedding, party, reunion, graduation, dedication, baptism, christening, funeral, Christmas, Thanksgiving, project, proposal, deadline, meeting, Bible Study, speaking engagement, retreat, election, dr.'s appt., diagnosis, surgery, infection, teething, school year has begun, school year has ended, concert, practice, game, marathon, parade, or rodeo.

Let us fill in the blank and kiss this thought goodbye.

You are very right, Mrs. Stream.

But I AM going to sleep in tomorrow morning. That's my version of 'settled down' when there's nothing else.

The program director for my Masters program said the same thing to us this past summer. He said life is never going to get less busy. So don't put off your capstone. Which is so true.

Such good, seemingly easy to follow advice. So hard to actually do.
