Class of 84

I received a postcard in the mail the other day. It was from the Directory Office for the school district I graduated from. Very official looking and URGENT. Oh, and time sensitive. It seems that I have 7 days to get back to them or my current contact information might be lost to the world and other graduates in the class of 1984. I started to get anxious and tried some mental gymnastics to help me remember to do that which is URGENT. I realized that even if I did not verify my alumni information all will be well. It became clear that in order to send me a postcard they would already have my current contact information.

It's funny that I got the same postcard about my own high school. A couple Google searches brought me to a blank template of the same postcard for some different schools. Amazing.. it seems that every high school in the country has lost their records. And everybody needs to respond in 7 days!!

A Google search also brought me to your blog entry about this. ;-)

I do think it's slimy of this company to try to pose as some kind of official bookkeeper from my own high school, trying to get me to spend my time to complete their directory. I wonder if they'd try to sell me something when I call?

Hi anon,
Thank you for stopping in!!
I am pretty sure they try to sell a directory of years and years of graduating classes.....and I would need that because.......???
That's what Facebook is for!! :)
