Wash

Dear Carla,
When doing laundry, please do not throw everyone's socks together. You hardly need one more reason to be crabby.
Love,
Carla

I hear you! I went to buy Abby more socks a while back. Accidentally bought them in MY size instead. Now we have exactly the same socks, only 1 size apart. What a pain to try & sort!

Here's a nifty solution for this problem, and it comes from my mom. I was blue, one sister was purple, and the other was red. She actually used to stitch a colored thread in the toe of every sock we owned! (and the underwear wastebands!)
(I think she had too much time on her hands!)

I have to think this was the product of several factors.
1. She liked to sew (but hand sewing? ... or mending? who likes that?)
2. And here's the key. I think she used to get a little more done by running on a pack of cigarettes and a pot of coffee a day.

(I hope you detect the sarcasm in this suggestion. I love my mom, but I never GOT this. I think she eventually resorted to permanent marker. That, I might be able to handle. Might.)
