Sure, Mom

The dumbest thing I have said(so far)today.

"Keep the sand in the sandbox, please."

Seems so simple yet, it needs to be said, often.

Last summer I had to say that to two nine year old neighbor girls who were playing in our yard.

Yeah, sure! Good one, Mom!

I think the dumbest thing that I say is after one of the kids trips or falls and out of my mouth comes, "Be careful."

Sand...in the sandbox makes perfect sense.

It's one of those things I say continually........."please eat over the table, keep the sand in the sandbox, be careful, stay out of the street....." Again. Ineed one of those digital repeating signs that is always on!

I saw a Christian comedian (Tim Hawkins - "These are the things you don't say to your wife") who did a whole bit on the dumb advice moms give:

When you are a child and you smash your head on the table and Mom says, "Be careful!"

Or when you are getting in the car to drive somewhere and she calls out, "Drive carefully!"

I can't really duplicate it here, but it's funny...
