Friday, December 9th, 1960 was the first episode of Coronation Street, putting it on television for roughly 48 years. A couple years ago they did try to move Bert and Ernie into seperate apartments...... But it never happened-
I had a roommate all through college and nobody insinuated anything... Go easy on the guys. Rent is expensive these days. Also, it's been at LEAST 25 years.

Can you imagine is SS started up today as a new show? The whole Bert and Ernie would never fly...although sadly, maybe it would.
Not that I'm claiming anything about the two buddies, I'm sure they are just old college friends.
