Pressing On

If one looks really close one can see some very tender moments in a house full of cherubs. Tender moments in the Trenches. When all seems like hustle and bustle and git r done, these moments can stop you short.

Joshua told me he is glad that I'm his mom.
Sarah told me that she missed me while she was at school.
I had my hands folded to say grace and was leaning near Tims to show him how. I closed my eyes and felt his little lips kissing my fingers.
Nathan and Timmers held hands through lunch yesterday. Nathan said, "I'm your bruddah, Tims. I'm your bruddah."

Oh, my heart.

I love those. I love it when they love each other. Especially the lunch one you said.

You know, mine voted me the best cook a couple weeks ago (::snort::). It was even kind of unanimous that I should have my own cooking show. I asked what recipes I should show. My husband suggested "Adam's chicken," with a smirk (Adam's is a local grocery store. He means their fried chicken.) My eleven year old agreed. "You take your $10 and go to Adams and buy your chicken."

Aren't they the best? I think I excused myself, leaving the kids with my husband to "babysit", and I went to read a book for 3 hours. jk :D

Isn't it funny how when you just can't take it anymore, they say or do something so sweet and suck ya right back in.
