Just Eat
Nathan at the moment refuses supper. Nothing doing. He will not eat soup, spaghetti, pork chops, sausage, rice, beans or any kind of casserole. He eats peanut butter and honey sammiches for lunch...Every Day. I am not a special order cook when it comes to supper. I know he won't starve but come on. Mommies are supposed to feed their cherubs and make sure they grow big and strong. I know this is a PHASE. All of the cherubs are in one phase or another at any given time. I can hardly keep track and prefer to think of it all as a blur.

You know, I have a couple of "picky" eaters (can't imagine WHERE they get it from (looks in mirror, smiling sheepishly)).
I don't make 2 dinners. But I will put butter on the pasta instead of sauce for those who prefer it that way.
Our general rule is that you have to eat your veggies. And you have to eat "some" of the rest of what's on your plate. We also have a sort of unspoken rule that if it comes back up, you're done. (This is a more common occurrence than I'd like to say.) So common, in fact, at times, that it is comical. To grownups, I should specify.
(tmi alert...)
But not to a 5 yo on his birthday when his 7 yo brother threw up his meat loaf on his plate. "You ruined my birthday" he sobbed.
(I knew it was a recipe for disaster when the birthday boy had requested meatloaf (who requests meatloaf?) for his birthday dinner to begin with.
So goes the dinner battle at our house, with our "littles". Good thing the video camera was on. (I was not filming, so I hope he did a "tasteful" job?)
Well atleast he picked a good one - peanut butter...my fave. When I was a kid, that's what held body & soul together. I still love them;they're one of my guilty pleasures.
Yes, it is a blur.
Maybe that is what causes lines on our forheads as we get older.
Kid Blur.
See! I can't even spell.
Foreheads, I meant.
Well Lauralynn,
We take care of four heads, thus the wrinkles on our foreheads. :)
Karla,
You crack me up! Now get a blog, girl!
that girl,
Peanut butter is a kid staple.
Up until this point, we had not entered the picky eater stage. Both Judah and Levi are good eaters, and Eden is proving to hold her own when it comes to eating with her brothers. Benjamin (16 mths) is starting to give me a run for my money. He will not eat anything unless it has been drenched in barbecue sauce first. The other morning, I tried feeding the twins scrambled eggs. Eden ate them like there were candy. Benjamin would even let them past his nose. That was until I covered them with barbecue sauce. Then he ate them saying hmmmmm the whole time. Go figure. Guess I'll being heading out to Sam's Club to purchase the biggest bottle of the stuff I can find.
Hi Kupkas!!
How is the Condiment Kid?
oh-you are funny
good one.
Carla-
Gabriella wanted pees last night with her dinner. She HATES pees. Or any green food.
You know what she does love though? To mess with her mommy...
Messin with Momma...starts so young!
my youngest (2 1/2) only eats ranch dressing, potato chips, apples, and chocolate chips. somehow she is surviving, and almost surpassing her 4 year old sister in weight. must be that chocolate milk!
gotta love those food ruts. by #4 you don't worry anymore!!! :)
