I am amazed at the new rules we come up with daily in this house. One would think we have covered them all. Apparently not.
While cleaning out Sniffs the hamster's cage, Joshua put him in his hamster ball to entertain the siblings. After a warning to stop spinning the ball they settled in to have some fun and watch Sniffs. The cage was cleaned and ready for transfer. Sarah picked up the hamster ball, held it over her head and dropped it. The ball hit the floor, the end popped off and Sniffs hit the leg of a chair and lay motionless. Josh cried and so did his Momma. Daddy picked him up and he started to come around and I am happy to say he is as frisky as ever.
Rule# 8,968 When the hamster is in the hamster ball, leave it on the floor.
Rule# 8,969 Ask forgiveness from your brother for almost killing his hamster.
Rule# 8,970 Forgive your sister, for almost killing your hamster.

Pat does a very funny impression of the hamster coming back to life.
Agreed.
Rule #8,971 Hamsters have 9 lives. Or let's hope.
I don't even know what to say.
At least yours didn't run off into the house somewhere~
We found the ball opened in the living room with no hamster in it!
He was gone for 2 days!
Thank goodness we don't have a cat.
Rule #8,376 in the nutmeg's home: no hamsters!
I'm with Erin on this one, wow.
Sniff was almost snuffed. Glad he came around. Could you record Pat's impression of the revival?
Here are the mechanics of the dead-come-back-to-live impression of Sniffers:
1. Roll eyes back into head.
2. Open mouth, let tongue hang out.
3. Tilt head backward.
4. Fold both arms up and back and cup hands by ears as if straining to hear.
4. Let body go as limp as possible.
5. Stay motionless for 2 minutes.
6. Start waving one hand erratically as of being shocked.
7. Start waving two hands and arm erratically
8. Take massive breath in.
9. Open eyes and look very confused.
That's good enough. I won't get into the movements that describe his back legs being paralyzed for another two minutes.
You know how in movies when somebody "comes to" and there's a circle of heads above them looking down? I imagine that's what Sniff witnessed.
Oh poor Sniffs, happy to hear he is ok! I would have cried too.
We have lots of crazy rules here too. In fact, after making a new rule, I'm always saying "I can't believe I have to make this a rule" lol.
Hi Tanya,
I say that all the time too!! "I can't believe......."
Pat,
LOL for the written version, too. No chance of a video of that showing up here any time soon....?
