My
husband has been posting about Financial Peace University and what he thinks of it. I believe he is Dave Ramsey's new best friend. I am glad. The Streams can be debtfree!!!! So can you!!!! I have read all of Dave's stuff and we are working diligently on Baby Step Number One. The emergency fund. Soon we will start the Debt Snowball and on and on it goes. I saw a commercial the other day. I hate it. It makes me ill every time I see it. I will change it for you now.
Life does NOT take Visa.

Those make me ill as well. You're an idiot if you use cash, the world will grind to a halt, you will severely injure all breakdancers and people will NOT get their coffee. And it will be all. your. fault.
Well done, Streams.
That reminds me of a time we went into a furniture store asking if they had any good sales or clearance items. They replied with enthusiasm "Oh yes, right now we have 0 percent down and no interest until 2010!" OK, that is not a SALE, people. That is a recipe for disaster.
They are banking on the fact that if you don't have the money now, you most likely won't have it in 2010!!
Cut up our cards years ago. We became debt free using Larry Burkett's principles, we are now using Crown Financial, we purchased a home and have some student loans but no consumer debt.
I've heard good things about Dave Ramsey, good job Streams!!
Yay you! Debt free is the way to be!! Changing the legacy for my children will include finances.
Yeah! Good for you! IT CAN BE DONE! We became debt free in 1998, even with 8 children and a single income. Four years later we started a business using an inheritance sum (thank you Mom) and our debt-free status as collateral. God has and is blessing the effort to serve him in this.
Should be:
"Visa takes away your life".
How about, "Life takes VISA check cards"?
:)
We're trying to learn young the importance of being debt free. We're shooting for house payment only by the time we have kids.
And your post hits the nail on the head with the biggest solution to getting debt free: no credit card spending!
