I help the Bigs with their Awana verses. They each have their own "way" of getting them into their heads and written on their hearts.
Mom "Romans."
Sarah "Romans 16."
Mom "17."
Sarah "Romans 16:9"
Mom "Romans 16:23 For"
Sarah "For the wages of sin is death?"
Mom "For all.""
Sarah "For all."
Mom "For all, come on Sarah."
Sarah "For all. What is it again?"
Mom "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Sarah "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Mom "You ready Josh?"
Josh "You ready Josh?'
Mom "Do you know your verses?"
Josh "Do you know your verses?"
Mom "Stop it."
Josh "Stop it."
Mom "1 Timothy."
Josh "Hey, that's my brothers name."
Mom "Yes, keep going."
Josh "Yes, keep going."
Mom "Josh, it's 1 Timothy what?"
Josh "Josh, it's 1 Timothy what?" He gets The Look from me.
Josh "1 Timothy 4:12."
Mom "Good."
Josh "Good."
I am looking forward to getting my award at the end of this year.

God's Word shall not return void.
Good Job, Mom!
I was hoping for the Timothy Award myself.
What do you get?
The satisfaction of helping my cherubs learn The Word. No trophies for Mommies. boo hoo
That's AWSOME!!! Keep up the good work! You will not be able to contain the reward!
I hear there's a big mommy award coming up on February 2nd from 9:00 to 4:00... maybe you can cash in early. ;-)
Tonight we were working on the books of the NT for AWANA tomorrow. The girls are having a hard enough time pronouncing big word after big word...("no, not Fessa-lonians, Thess-alonians...") much less memorizing the long list of them! Usually after a few days work on the verses we are pretty good to go, but this time I am stumped!
Good work, Carla. Patience my dear, patience!
Hey I have the OT and NT books on tape...in a song!! I shall get it to you, dear.
Timothy Award! AHHAHAAHAAHHAAAAA!
Good one Katie.
Of course if AWANA had a Joshua award that would be even better...
I wonder if Tims will get the Timothy award? Way to persevere Carla!
Carla, we have a kids' CD with the NT books in an awesome song...still not helping with the big words, though.
I also had a copy of the AWANA CD, but it wouldn't play the words on our CD/DVD player.
I'm open to try yours, though.
V, I love your comment--witty!
