I am amazed at my children's eyelashes. All of them have long and dark and loverly lashes. Sarah likes to watch her Momma apply makeup. I am not one to spend hours in front of the mirror. As if. I use Bare Escentuals. Swirl, Tap, Buff is about all I have time for. I feel more human when I have some makeup on. I was curling my eyelashes and applying mascara when Sarah asked me, "Why do you do that to your eyelashes?" I had to pause and think about that. Why? Am I vain? Do I need to look "put together" before I schlep the littles to WalMart? Is it a habit? Am I a slave to the beauty industry?
This is all I could come up with. "So my eyelashes look just like yours."

That's a great answer. I was at a wedding once and someone told a story about the bride. The bride was sunbathing and a little dark-skinned girl was playing at the beach and asked her why she was doing what she was doing and the bride said, "So my skin will look as pretty as yours."
I just always thought that was a sweet answer.
A perfect answer.
