Get Out

We have been sickly as of late. A bunch of sickos. At least one of us has been throwing up. I looked at the calendar and realized I haven't even stepped outside since the screamfest incident on Thursday! I bundled up this morning and took some things out to the recycling bin, making sure to breathe in some clean, cold air. In, out, in, out. I was outside for a good 55 seconds. I didn't want to overdo it.

I love your blog. Short. Sweet. Punchy.
I'm trying to peel myself out of my bed when you post most of these.
But I hope you're all feeling better soon.
Hope the vomit count remains 1.

Anna did a nice job w/ the stomach flu this weekend. I AM waiting for school to call. Matthew purposely took the car with no heat to work today for just that reason. (In case I have to pick up a sick boy) Should I be thinking more positively?

I'm wishing you a vomit-free day, my friend.

v free blogging for you, Sheri!!

Hey - let's be careful with how we use the word 'v', shall we?? ;-)

Carla - did you guys get the flu shot? I'm taking a tally. I've never gotten one and have never had the flu, but they recommend the shot for traveling to India. If I hear of one more person who got the shot and still got the flu though... I'm for sure refusing the shot.

Hi v,
No offense. :)
We have never had the flu shot. ewww
In the Check It Out section I put Dr. Zach's natural flu remedy as a link.
I say lets build up our immune systems, people!
We always get sick after Christmas. Too much sugar weakens the immune system.
My 4 cents.

Sorry to have used the v-word. I usually just say puke, but I was trying to use what seemed to be the more blog-acceptable choice. I'll heave a sigh of relief to hear that I didn't cause anyone to do that. And I'll try to stop hurling words around senselessly.
I throw up my hands in exasperation at knowing what the best word choice is!
(sorry coffeegirl)

oms kj that was funny.

V, the flu shot is for the respiratory flu, not the, well, v kind.

SO not offended about the v; JK! Thanks for the info and opinions, everyone. :-) Carla, hope you all are feeling better very, very soon!

Karla,
V for Victory!!

Carla,
Was that V for the Victory of having NO V-word by end of day yesterday? Excellent if that's the case.

(btw, who are 'kj" and "JK" in Kristi and -V-'s comments?)

And also in reply to -V-'s question about the flu shot, I, too, have heard of people getting sick after the shot, but it is not as bad as the full blown flu. Four years ago, 5 out of 6 of us got the flu over Christmas. I started it... my 2 youngest boys and husband were next. And then my oldest son. (My daughter escaped the flu.... but that flu was followed by ... um ... you know, that V-virus! Not once but twice, and my daughter got it both times.) As my youngest was not yet 1, this was a downward spiral for him. Carla, I could SOOOO relate to your underweight child story, though no-one reported me. Just when I thought he was eating, we would have another appointment, only to find he had either gained nothing, or actually lost some ounces. So he fell off the bottom of the weight chart before he was one, and stayed off it for 2 years (or was it 3, I can't even remember anymore!) Anyway, any time a child had a Dr. appointment, I always brought the youngest for a weight check for good measure. They sent me to a nutritionist. It kind of helped (if he likes pizza, give it to him 3 times a day - the other kids will just have to understand).
So also can relate to being trapped inside for months with nowhere to go but the Dr.
So, for a couple years after that, my kids got a flew shot (and did not get sick from it.) Generally, I am with you - let the immune systems get strong. But, that was one scary year. And when you have other issues.... it's a tough choice.
-V- are you going to India? Just curious.

OMS (that would be Oh my stars!) I didn't think this was going to be THIS long! Sorry about that.

ok well, hope you're having a good day.

Karla with a K..that was funny, Kristi is right on.

I knew a couple people who got sick after the flu shot and then some who didn't.

Actually it was a boofer on my part. I only glanced at Karla's name and thought it was Kara Jo. My bad. From now on Karla, you will be KarlawithaK. Love your comments by the way--even if I think you are someone else.
