Do Tell

Sarah had Show n Tell yesterday. She packed her Adventure Bible. I was made to wrap it in two Target bags and place it gently in her backpack. She was concerned that it might get snow on it.(What does she do on the walk to school?!)She told me she was going to read Genesis 1 to the class. "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth..." Joshua piped up, "She can't do that. She can't talk about God in school." He got an earful from me. Of course she can. She can pray, say the name of God, tell others about Jesus, bring her Bible and read it in public school. She can even hand out Valentines that say Jesus loves you. Yes, she can.
She came home from school and was so happy that everyone loved her bible and asked where they could get one and they all kept shouting, "Read a verse!" She said she didn't have time. Maybe next week.

That's really great, Carla!! I can totally understand public school's concern for religous tolerance, but I really don't think that banning it is the way to go. I'm so glas Sarah was able to share it with her classmates!!

Hi Butrfly,
Thanks! I like that our Bigs are the same age!

If public school's are all for tolerance why are some so intolerant of Christianity? Just throwing that out there. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

That is so wonderful! I would be so proud to have a daughter that is so in tune with her faith and wanting to share it with the people around her. Keep doing what you're doing, we need more kids like her in our schools!

What awesome encouragement to her to find that kids DID want to hear a verse!
That was a good one, God.
Keep up the good work, Sarah!

Our boys public school is intolerant of Christianity also. Last year for the "Holiday" program they had the kids sing, "We wish you a Happy Holiday" instead of, "We wish you a Merry Christmas." The music teacher had changed all of the lyrics of all 5 songs they sang. I almost stood up and said something to hundreds of people. It stinks.

Mikayla is transferring buses from the Christian school at 3:10 and gets on the public bus route at 3:30. Young girls on the bus are asking her to read the bible to them! She started last fall and has read them the bible outloud, and told them bible stories for months. She is such a witness. Far beyond her Ma and Pa.
What an opportunity our girls have!
Go Sarah! Go Mikayla!
