I love me some Chai goodness. I was told that it doesn't contain caffeine and if it does, very little.
In 2 separate clinical trials, ok fine, in 2 separate coffee house trials I have proven this wrong.
Coffee House Trial #1 January 2nd, 2008, I consumed one 12 oz.(small not tall) Chai Tea Latte after 7pm. I stayed awake until 1am.
Coffee House Trial #2 January 7th, 2008, I consumed one 12 oz.(small not tall)Chai Tea Latte after 7pm. I stayed awake until 2:30am.
Informal Data Gathering yielded the following results:
Yes.Indeedy.(total data gathering scientific fact finding phrase)
Chai=Caffeine=Carla is up!
New Law for Carla's Universe Effective January 8th, 2008
Chai Tea Latte shall never again be used in any clinical or coffee house trial of mine unless said trial begins at 7AM. yawn

It sure does! As much as a regular cup of coffee according to this place. I think it's because it uses black tea, but I'm not positive. Green and white tea are the low caffeine teas and herbal teas are usually caffeine free. :D
I used to LOVE chai until I found out it had pepper in it. Now I can't drink it anymore. ????? (No, I don't hate pepper! But apparently anything that I don't flavor myself is just disgusting to me. I can't even look at the cracked pepper triscuits without getting ill! I'm so weird.)
OH BG why did I not come straight to you first? :) Live and Learn is my motto.
Hey, you're awake, that's great.
I am struggling to keep myself to my one cup of half decaf (coffee) with a pinch of caffeine. The pinch is starting to become the bigger "half". Or I have a 2nd cup.
Ok, gotta go grade some papers.

The girl at Starbucks told my sister the same thing: no caffiene. She texted me at 2:30am, furious that she was still awake.
Sorry, Carla.
Here ya go....

caffeine is on the "nutritional facts table".
I was also told that it had no caffeine, but it had enough sugar in it to make up for the caffeine. I'm not sure how correct that is though.
Caffeine does not usually keep me up unless I way over do it. I can drink a cup right before bed and no effect on me. On the other hand I've found out consuming a bunch of chocolate covered espresso beans will wire me though!
Of course Tylenol PM wires me instead of putting me to sleep - maybe I'm just weird!
