Amen

I received this for Christmas from a dear friend. It is hanging in front of my face in the kitchen.

A Mother's Prayer

Give me patience when
little hands
Tug at me with ceaseless
small demands.
Give me gentle words and
smiling eyes
And keep my lips from
hasty sharp replies.
Then when in
years to come
My house is still,
beautiful memories
its rooms may fill.

Wow, I needed that today. I cannot say that I was a terribly patient mother yesterday.
I'm printing this out in 24 point Times New Roman Bold for my fridge.

I like how you say "in front of my face." That's where I need everything to be if I am to remember it.
Thanks for sharing - it's a beautiful reminder.
I may copycat marylu...

This morning on my [very aggravated] way out the door with the kids, I had a small epiphany and actually asked myself, "How do the good parents do it??"

Good timing, Carla. I'm printing this right now to put up when I get home.

(I still have to get back to you on the email...I'm remembering! I promise!)
