Forget It

I knew I would forget something when making Christmas plans. I remembered to make crab salad but forgot the crackers, bought the chocolate covered cherries but forgot to bring the cookies. I managed to stuff stockings, wrap presents and get everything under the tree by December 25th. Good. Very good. All gifts made it to the right child this year and I even remembered to lay down and do nothing. It wasn't until after Christmas that I remembered what I forgot. Batteries!! Daddy went out and dropped a tidy sum on A's, D's and C's and a couple of Y's for good measure. We now have a barking, walking doggie owned by Timmers, a race track and a remote control helicopter. By New Year's Eve all batteries will be confiscated and I will hide them and remember to forget where I put them.

There are "Y" batteries?

We needed a lot of batteries here, too, unfortunately. Nathan got a toy drill and saw, both of which he simultaneously whir-whir-whirred all the way home from Grandma's. Then at home he vacuumed & dust busted for as long as his little dirt devil legs would taken him.

My dad forgot my mom's Christmas present in Wausau this year.
It was safely hidden in his sock drawer.
Just an idea.

Yes, I need to hide and forget as well! LOL!!!

No, Y batteries. It just sounded funny to me. Maybe J would have been funnier.

We have Y and J batteries and a couple H's as well. I know exactly where you're coming from. It's remarkable how every battery powered machine in this house requires exactly the same type of battery we just ran out of. Never falls. Why can't 3 AA's equal 1 C? Is it that hard?

I know that the logical solution to the battery dilemma is rechargeable batteries. But if I were logical I wouldn't have anything else to post about.

Is Katie talking about batteries or cup sizes?

Erin, in that world, AAA's will NEVER equal a C.

Trust me.

Carla,
I think I've seen your comments on Dawn of mom2my6pack fame's blog.

I liked your Y battery joke - I got it =) Erin is also funny with her cups.

Have never been here. But thought I'd leave a comment because I am Karla with K. I, too, have 4 by 40 and I think in the same gender placement as you (b-g-b-b?) (Beautiful family shot btw.)
And I have 1 waiting in Heaven who never made it here - don't know your circumstances. But I wanted to say I'm sorry for your losses.

That's all - KR

Hi Karla with a K!!
It's funny that I can even get a comment in on Dawn's blog!! :) She cracks me up.
Yes, b, g, b, b!! I had 2 miscarriages and an abortion. I yearn for my babies everyday.
I am sorry for your loss as well.
Thank you for stopping.
I am going to check out your blog!!

Karla,
Where's your blog??

I laughed out loud hard when I read that. I am sorry, but I don't have a blog. I know how people hate "lurking", so when I can relate, I like to leave comments.
A friend sent me to Dawn's blog this summer - she cracks me up too.
Trying to decide whether to start one. I certainly have stories with 4 kids =D.
I'll come back to visit. Have read your horror story with CPS. Shake my head at that one. You and Pat are strong people.
Ok - more later. Got some kids to tuck in.
