Search Party
My little boys were out of sorts yesterday. Oooooh, the neediness! They missed me! I missed them! I loved em up and hugged em up and we sat and cuddled for a spell. I did have lunch to make so I tried to distract Timothy with slippers. I knew his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle slippers would come to the rescue. They would be fun and keep him occupied. Where is the other one? Looking, looking, his momma was looking. Looking led to searching and finally hunting. Timothy was feeling stressed as his whine was getting louder and louder. I gave up. My bright idea turned into 19 minutes of frustration. I finally found something to distract him with. Food.

Food is always the best distraction, yes? Even if it means here...eat this cheeto while I make your sandwich and cut up your apple.
This made me laugh so much - food is how I always get my little girl, LOL!!!
ok...THIS explains what happens when I get on my hands and knees and say "Let's play Timmers"...he grunts and runs to the snack cupboard. I am a why person and now I know why this happens.
Word to the wise: Make sure you have both slippers before you show them to your child. If you can't find one, keep them both out of sight.

Works every time!
I don't know about you, but food used as a distraction works for moms as well. What? All four of my children are having complete meltdowns in the middle of the living room...maybe this piece of chocolate will help me get through the next 10 minutes. Okay, maybe two pieces will do the trick
Ah Yes, The food trick. If you come to my house you will see dry cereal scattering the living room carpet- if you throw it just right it keeps them busy for at least 10 minutes. In a desperate moment you can even throw M&M's. L.
