Just Eat It
Ah, suppertime. It has become a battlefield of sorts here in the trenches. After a long, hard day doing what I do, I am ready to sit down and enjoy a meal with my family. I love the happy sounds of a family enjoying their dinner. I hope. I wait. I hope. I look around at all of the faces of children who again have wrinkled their noses and shook their heads at what I have made. How dare I call this food! Last night was pizza casserole. Same looks, same sighs and moans. The littles refused to eat. The bigs tried their best. Sarah said to me later, "Mom, when I don't like what you made for supper I plug my nose with my hand like this, take a bite and wash it down with water. That's how I do it cause then I don't have to taste it."

Perhaps it's time to integrate the "bigs" into the meal preparation process.
Also read as, "Can children eat with duct tape over their mouths?"
Wow, Sarah's comments are sure encouraging.
My Liz said to me one time, after I told her to eat her sweet potatoes, "I eat everything else and save the worst for last." (Well, Thank YOU very much!)
Do you think if Mr. Felton came to cook the SAME casserole for them that they would eat it merrily?
I always rely on my handy standby "Do you know there are children who have had nothing to eat all day today!" So last week Mikayla says- "So, send it to them."
Kelli-yes. But I so enjoy when the tv babysits while I make supper.
Marylu-Daughters can be real downers.
Erin-Swampy is hired!
ladyd-I have used that same line. Did not get as snappy a comeback as Mikayla gave you though.
The last time my mom made liver, I cut it into bite sized pieces, and gulped it down with water, like you would a vitamin so it wouldn't touch my tongue. My dad never made me eat that again. Not saying you are serving fare like liver, just made me remember.
We have the same issues with eating over here. So last night when everyone was doing their crazy thing, I dimmed the lights, put on piano music, Caleb said, "Peaceful". While the screaming and the antics still continued, I found my happy place.
Ooooohh. Me likey. Pizza Casserole by candlelight.
