I chased my tail today. I needed some information and since I do not know the number of the post office off the top of my head I had to look it up in the phone book. I tried Post in the business section, then Post in the government section, and then the white section. Then I tried United States Postal Service in business, government and white. I then went to the yellow section cause they are called SMART pages. I am a smart girl. Finally found something that looked like what I needed. Government Offices in every county-except mine! I picked a town close to me and asked for the Hudson Post Office. She told me I could only access that through an 800 number. Ok. I called that and shouted at a recording about post office boxes. The robot told me the information I sought was only available on the usps website. I was near tears by now.(No, really I wanted to shred the helpful book into a zillion pieces, but a kinder and gentler Carla sheds tears.)To the website, smart, kind and gentle girl. I typed in my zipcode and found my post office!! Finally. There in bold print was the 800 number.
I warmed up the van, bundled up the littles and drove the 2 minutes on the frozen tundra to the post office.

Smart, gentle and resourceful! I have no clue where the post-office is either... :-)
I'm really sorry.
They probably wouldn't have answered the phone anyway.
I had to do the exact same thing on Tuesday! 715 386-0322
They are very nice when you do call.
Carla.... you mean to tell me the number to the Post Office is not memorized?!?
Sad to say I don't even know my own cell phone number. The brain cells are going....
You need to memorize medical billing codes. All other numbers are irrelevant.
Done. Boss. Sir. Sir Boss.
I have had the same experience with trying to track down the post office phone number...they're sneaky and they hide!
Speaking of the post office, I think I broke one of their rules. Went to mail my Christmas cards. Two big blue mail bins to choose from. One is marked stamped mail and the other "all other mail--DO NOT PUT STAMPED MAIL IN HERE!" Honestly, I don't know what they mean by stamped--hand stamped with rubber stamper/metered, or "has a postage stamp on it?"
Anyway, I think I picked the wrong bin. I wanted to call for my own information, but I knew I'd never be able to find the phone number!
