Read Me

Something weird is going on. Ok. Maybe weird isn't the right word. Strange but not in a bad way. I get to talking to friends, you know, chit chat, shooting the breeze, what have you. Lately I have been hearing, "Yeah, I know I read that on your blog. " Awkward silence. Ok. Next topic and same statement. "I saw that. I read that. I know." Pretty soon I may not have to talk at all. I am wondering if I should wear a sticker with my blog address on it. Or just change my name, along with a couple friends. "Hi, I'm Four by 40. Nice to see you again Tell Me About It. Where's The Thing Is? Oh, she's over there talking to Burn the Ships."

I know huh! It's like we need to keep a mental list of blog stories vs. non-blog stories and converse accordingly... And conversing (for me) is tricky as it is... It is nice to know people are reading though; feeling surrounded by friends all the time - not just when you're physically with them.

Tell Me About It.
Happens to me all the time.
Are there such things as non-blog stories?

Yeah, those are the ones that you don't want all those people in Hawaii to hear...which, I'm thinking, would be what? We've covered floaters in the tub, bathroom stories, and all manner of other seriously personal stuff...I guess there aren't. Just blog as much as you like and when you talk to people in person, make stuff up.

Dear Whiner,
Yes, you are my faves.

The Thing Is, I always so appreciate it when I can tell people have read my story already, but they patiently listen to it again. Their eyes glaze over and I keep talking and when I'm finished, we move on to something else. Oh well.
Carla, you can repeat stories to me any time you want.

I know whatcha mean. I have a lot of in-real-life friends who read my blog. But never comment. So I have no clue who's heard my story and who hasn't!
