How Many?

Nathan is obsessed with many things. His latest love is gum. I buy some for myself once in awhile but when he finds out I have some I tire easily of the whining, crying, and howling for it. I took the littles to WalMart on Monday and Nathan tried his hand at "walking, not riding." He did pretty well except for the dive under the clothing racks. Must be some childhood right of passage. At the checkout I let him choose his favorite gum. Ouch Gum is wrapped like little bandaids and comes in a metal box. Oh, and it's loaded with sugar to rot his teeth. Perfect. He headed to roomtime while I unpacked our purchases.(If I weren't so clueless I would have asked for the gum.)Nathan handed me the gum after roomtime and asked for a piece after lunch. I said yes and opened up the box and found 5 pieces. Um. When I bought the thing it held 21 pieces. How many sticks of gum did my boy chew up and swallow in roomtime? Do the math.

Watch closely and have the Guinness people on speed dial. The biggest poop-bubble is about to happen.

I was going to say "can't be far behind", but some things are just too punny--even for me.

I remember OUCH gum! It's been a while!

We have a rule that gum is not allowed in our house or vehicles. TOO MANY sticky incidents! They try to rub it in when they get some, "GRAAANDMA gave me GUUUUM." "That's fine for grandma if she lets you have gum in your car - but you are home now, so you should go spit it out."

We let them chew it outside when they get it as a treat, though. We're not completely mean. :D

My kid would have fallen asleep with them in her mouth and awakened with them permanently embedded in her hair!

My Baby is addicted to gum. He's 2! He never swallows it though. I think he just likes opening up the wrapper of a brand new piece. He chews it for about 5 min., throws it away, and then wants a new one.
