Will

I have a strong willed girl.(Whether or not the boys are remains to be seen. Can you imagine 4 S.W's?? What are the odds?)Sarah is not characterized by first time obedience. She refuses at times to do what is asked or flat out says, "No!" or simply wanders around making it look like she is doing what you asked. I love my only girl. She is feisty and funny and very athletic. The hard part is figuring out consequences with her that really matter. Seems like when I take her laptop she freaks out one day and could care less the next. This morning I followed through. She did not brush her teeth when I asked. She cleaned the sink for 10 minutes instead. Thank you but that is not what I asked you to do. She went to timeout and I let Joshua leave for school. She loves to walk with Josh. WWIII, people! Thar she blows! Major fit in timeout-the crying, screaming, wailing! We talked about it when the bell went off and I told her she could go. By herself?! She looked at me like I was crazy and asked for a ride. Nope.(I almost gave in actually)She cried in the yard for 4 more minutes and I told her I loved her and I would see her after school. She left! Good girl! I called the school and told them that she might be late but she is coming. I am glad I followed through and held my ground. Not to worry, tomorrow my SarahBeara will tell me she loves to walk to school alone!

Hahahaha. Is it possibly an only-girl thing? She sounds remarkably similar to my only-girl...

You did great, by the way. Much better than I would have.

Dear Carla,
Please don't scare me like this. You are supposed to be telling me my dear little Anna will only have this temperment while a toddler. Not to worry, this stubborness is due only to the fact that she's two. :)

Katie,
Cheer up! Our girls will be strong, opinionated "charge up that hill" kinda women! Cool.

Yeah, She's like our little Anna; she finds clever ways to be in control and is really the most frustrated when she realizes that I've figured her out and eliminated her options for plans 'B-Z'.

I wouldn't have it any other way; let that boy who crash landed in Smallville figure her out when he starts to ask her out...
