Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
Joshua and Timothy go straight to bed. There is no messing around. Nathan and Sarah are the master manipulators at bedtime. After brushing teeth, books, blankies, water, and prayers I wanna be done. Sarah adds a backrub for good measure. Good night! I heard someone yell "Mommy!" last night and headed for door number 1. I told Nathan, "You need to go to sleep. I don't want to come in here again, Nathan. Do you hear me? Good night." I heard Sarah say, "Mom, that was me yelling for you." Oops, sorry Nathan. Same speech given, insert the name Sarah.

Happened to me once to Babe, except Griffen The Cat was the one doing the whining. I seriously thought it was one of the kids.
But did you lecture him?
blahblahblah, Griffin! blahblah! Griffin, blahh blah!
haha Bedtime sounds like a huge chore in your house. We have it easy right now. Cooper goes to bed before Evan. I am sure it will get harder.
Lene, I think this parenting gig is supposed to get easier all the time, right?!
Hahaha. I totally do that. Sigh. If I hear a crash, or if the baby suddenly starts to cry, I usually bellow, "BLAKE!!!!" Only to discover, half the time, that Blake had nothing to do with it--he's sitting quietly watching TV or something. Poor kid. But because of his track record, it's pretty easy to generally assume that it's his fault.
See Brillig? Whatever happens I yell "Nathan!" He always says, "I dint do nussin!"
Parenting gig gets easier? Hmmmm. Of course it's not easy cleaning up gallons of water seeping through the floor or quieting unsleepy-heads night after night. But, neither is it easy to take your 18 year old son to college and have him run off to football practice as you leave, forgetting to hug you or even say good-bye. Very hard on the heart.
(PS He called and apologized later, just caught up in the newness he said. Felt just a teeny bit better.)
You sound just like me! I have 4 as well. Thanks for the poem today and your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated.
