Neighbors
I have an elderly neighbor. She has been a grandmother to my children and we love her very much. She is a feisty 87 year old. I usually hear a big, fat no if I ask if I can help her in any way. I called to see if I could hang some blankets on her clothesline. Yes to that. I ran over, threw them on the line and ran home. I noticed her a few moments later moving my blankets to better spots, whapping out some wrinkles and using those uh things, doinks, little wooden sticks?(Duh. I know they are ClothesPins!) Feels good to be taken care of.

Don'tcha just love being loved like that?
We have one of those in our neighborhood, too. Every spring she comes over and tells us to take as much rhubarb as we can stand. Do we want to use her garden? How was our winter? We lament about the sad passing of our lawns in the summer drought. She's this tiny little thing, over 90 now, and still mows her own lawn. :) Love to hear her stories! She loves to have my daughter and her friends play in her yard. She'll sit in the window and watch them like she just got the newest DVD release.
We can learn much, non?
what a sweetie!
